Roma Deli & Restaurant

 by Cynthia De La Torre–

Roma Deli, A Novel Idea (restaurant review)

I will start off my Italian narrative by reading the ending first- I knew a girl who did this, and it only made the book all the more intriguing to her.
We will conduct an experiment or perform a taste test if you will. The ending is, Roma Deli’s food is eccellente! Pina, Roma Deli’s restaurant chef, will never share her secret sauce with anyone not even her daughter! She will take it to her grave! Reporters try to extract the secret sauce from Pina while enjoying an Italian meal but their efforts prove to be futile.
Are you intrigued?
This restaurant is one of my favorites in Vegas because the food is delicious, there is the wine, and more wine… and, a very reasonable price point. Another benefit is, you can bring your screaming kid and they won’t be heard- the atmosphere resembles your friend’s big Italian family on a Sunday for dinner.
The story is, I started out light and tried the salmon and asparagus. The salmon stays amazingly moist all the way to the last bite. I know! Salmon is not the Italian dish you imagined this authentic Italian restaurant would prepare, but this is my story not yours.
I had to work my way up to their infamous Beef Braciola marinated in Roma’s secret sauce. The taste… was happily ever after in my mouth! With a tall glass of their best red table wine, and I felt like buying the entire first season of the “Sopranos.”
To recieve 10% off your entire check, you must tell your waiter ”I found your restaurant on The Lead” and then say “Mangia, Mangia” which in Italian is “eat”.
